Our curriculum

At West Grove we deliver a broad and balanced curriculum that drives ambition and opportunity for all our children. Our curriculum is built on the principle that knowledge is the key to a bright future and children learn best when they can make links, build on prior learning and understand the big ideas of a subject.

The curriculum links to a range of wider learning experiences that allow children to build their cultural capital and celebrate the diversity and rich culture of the city we live in. Half-termly educational visits expose them museums, galleries, local religious institutions and wonders of the natural world.

We provide a learning environment which allows our children to be confident, independent and inquisitive learners who have the courage to question right from wrong and who leave the school with a love of learning and a curiosity about the world around them.

Our school values are a driving force and are threaded through everything we do. Children are encouraged to be ambitious and are taught to recognise that personal development is essential to well-being and success.
