Science

At West Grove, we want our children to be curious and ask questions about the world we live in.  We aim to give every child a coherently sequenced Science curriculum which enables them to confidently explore and discover what is around them, so that they have a deeper understanding of the world and beyond.

Lessons involve the teaching of scientific concepts and vocabulary along with exciting, practical opportunities for them to apply their scientific skills. Our curriculum challenges pupils to deepen their understanding of both their substantive and disciplinary knowledge of science. The curriculum has been carefully designed and developed with the need of every child at the centre of what we do.

Pupils will learn about the impact science has had on our lives as well as its importance in meeting future challenges. We want to encourage our inquisitive pupils to aspire to be the scientists of the future.
